Common Airline Terms
USD Fare
The term USD Fare is applied to foreign nationals other than Indian and Nepalese Citizens. Overseas citizens of India also fall under this fare.
NPR Fare
NPR Fare is applied for all Nepalese and Indian Nationals.
No-Show Tickets
A passenger is marked as “No-Show” if they don’t arrive at check-in at the scheduled time without prior notice.
Airport Tax Charge
Airport tax Charge also known as Passenger Service Charge is a fee charged to passengers for using airport facilities and services. Airport Tax is refunded to all passengers in case of No-Show.
Open Tickets
An Open Ticket is a flexible flight ticket that doesn’t have a fixed return date.
Fuel Surcharge
Fuel Surcharge is an extra fee added to a flight ticket to cover the cost of fuel. It is usually refunded to all passengers if they cancel their ticket.
Base Fare
Base Fare is the core price of your ticket. It does not include taxes, extra fees and surcharges. If you cancel your ticket, cancellation fees are deducted from your base fare.
Child Fare
Children of age 2 to 12 years are offered this fare with some amount of discount on the regular fare.
Infant Fare
Infants below 2 years of age are eligible for this fare type.
Buddha Air
Buddha Air is the most popular airlines offering more than 100 flights per day to different domestic routes in Nepal. In addition to domestic flights in Nepal, Buddha Air also operates a direct international flight to Varanasi, India. For domestic flights, Buddha Air offers 6 different fare classes: Y, A, B, C, D and E and hand baggage of 5 kg is provided to all these classes.
Normal ‘Y’ Fare
Normal ‘Y’ is the most expensive and flexible ticket offered by Buddha Air. However, it is the only ticket option available for foreign nationals i.e. USD Fare. Free check-in baggage allowance for Normal ‘Y’ Fare is 25 kg.
Cancellation Charge for Normal 'Y' Fare
- If a passenger cancels their ticket 11 hours before departure, a 10% cancellation fee is applied.
- If a passenger cancels their ticket within 11 hours of departure, a 33.33% cancellation fee is applied.
- Passengers cannot cancel their tickets if there are 2 hours left for departure.
Rescheduling Policies
Passengers can reschedule their Buddha Air's Normal Y Fare flights before 2 hours of departure.
Apex ‘A’ Fare
Apex Fare is applicable to all Nepalese and Indian Nationals. This fare is slightly less expensive than the Normal ‘Y’ fare making it a budget-friendly flexible ticket option. Free check-in baggage allowance for Apex Fare is 20 kg.
Cancellation Charge for Apex 'A' Fare
- If a passenger cancels their ticket 11 hours before departure, a 25% cancellation fee is applied.
- If a passenger cancels their ticket within 11 hours of departure, a 50% cancellation fee is applied.
- Passengers cannot cancel their tickets if there are only 2 hours left for departure.
Rescheduling Policies
Passengers can reschedule their Buddha Air's Apex A Fare flights before 2 hours of departure. But if seats for the same fare category are not available, they can upgrade their seat and pay the difference amount.
Brave ‘B’ Fare
Brave Fare is the most affordable ticket option that still allows some flexibility regarding flight changes and baggage. Baggage allowance for Brave Fare is 20 kg. ‘B’ Fare tickets are sold on a First Come First Server basis.
Cancellation Charge
If Brave fare passenger cancels their ticket, only the fuel surcharge fee will be refunded.
Rescheduling Policies
Brave B fare passengers can reschedule their flights before 2 hours of departure. But if seats for the same fare category are not available, they can upgrade their seat and pay the difference amount.
Charlie ‘C’, Delta ‘D’ and Echo ‘E’ fare
C, D and E classes are non-refundable least flexible ticket options in Buddha Air. However they are the cheapest of all classes making them a budget-traveller's favourite. Free check-in baggage allowance for C, D and E Fares of Buddha Air is 15 kg.
Cancellation Charge
If a passenger cancels their C, D or E ticket, only the fuel surcharge fee will be refunded.
Rescheduling Policies
Passengers can reschedule their flight if seats for the same fare category are available, otherwise they can upgrade their seat and pay the difference amount.
C, D and E fare categories are the most affordable tickets providing best value to travelers on a budget.
Cancellation after Rescheduling
If a Buddha Air passenger cancels their ticket after rescheduling, airline applies the cancellation charge based on the passenger's original fare category. Any rescheduling and upgrading charges will not be refunded.
Flight Delay Policies
Buddha Air refunds the full fare on passengers’ request if the flight is delayed by more than 1 hour.
Child Fare in Buddha Air
Buddha Air charges children between the ages of 2 and 12 years 33% of the Normal Y fare. Passegers must present a valid document with the child's birth date at check-in.
Infant Fare in Buddha Air
Buddha Air charges infants under the age of 2 years 10% of the normal 'Y' fare and issues the ticket at the check-in counter. A valid birth certificate of the infant must be presented.
Elderly Fare in Buddha Air
Buddha Air offers a 50% discount on the normal 'Y' fare to Nepalese senior citizens who present proper certification. 2 seats per day are allocated for this case and tickets are sold on First Come First Served basis. This is only applied if the ticket is booked directly from the sales office of Buddha Air.

Shree Airlines
Shree Airlines operates scheduled domestic flights to more than 8 destinations like Kathmandu, Dhangadhi, Bhairahawa ,Bhadrapur, Biratnagar and so on. Shree Airlines was considered the second largest domestic flyer in terms of number of passengers with 11 aircraft as of 2024. Shree airlines has 6 different ticket classes : H, I, B, E, S and T.
H fare
Shree Airline also offers a single Fare class, ‘H’ for USD Fare. ‘H’ Fare is the most expensive ticket option with the most baggage allowance and flexibility for cancelling and rescheduling your flight. Travelers get 30 kg of free check-in baggage allowance in H Fare
Cancellation Charge for H Fare
- If a passenger cancels their ticket 12 hours before departure, a 10% cancellation fee is charged.
- If a passenger cancels their ticket between 4 to 12 hours of departure, a 33% cancellation fee is charged.

Cancellation after Rescheduling for H Fare

Rescheduling Policies for H Fare
- Rescheduling is allowed free of charge for two times if done in 4 or more hours before departure.
- Rescheduling fee of Rs 200 will be charged for third or any subsequent flight changes.
- Passengers cannot reschedule their flight if there are 2 hours left for departure.
I fare
I fare is only applicable for NPR Fare. It is fairly priced considering the level of flexibility it offers. For I Fare, free check-in baggage allowance is 25 kg.
Cancellation Charge for I Fare
- If a passenger cancels their ticket 12 hours before departure, a 25% cancellation fee is charged.
- If a passenger cancels their ticket between 4 to 12 hours of departure, a 50% cancellation fee is charged.
- 100% cancellation fee is charged if a passenger cancels their ticket in less than 4 hours of departure.
Cancellation after Rescheduling
- A 50% cancellation fee will be applied if a passenger cancels their I fare ticket more than 4 hours before departure.
- 100% cancellation fee will be applied if a passenger cancels their I fare ticket less than 4 hours before departure.
Rescheduling Policies for I fare
- Rescheduling is allowed free of charge for one time if done in 4 or more hours before departure.
- Rescheduling fee of Rs 200 will be charged for second or any subsequent flight changes.

B Fare
B fare is the least expensive ticket option that offers plentiful flexibility and free check-in baggage. This ticket is also only applicable for NPR Fare. Free check-in baggage allowance is 20 kg in Shree Airlines’ B Fare.
Cancellation Charge for Shree Airlines' B fare
- If a passenger cancels their ticket 12 hours or more before departure, a 50% cancellation fee is charged.
- If a passenger cancels their ticket in less than 4 hours of departure, a 100% cancellation fee is charged.
Cancellation after Rescheduling
- 100% cancellation fee will be applied if a passenger cancels their B fare ticket after rescheduling.

E,S and T Fare
E, S and T fare classes are all non-refundable classes offered at lowest price by Shree Airlines. These are considered the least flexible, providing little to no compensation. E, S and T Fare offer 20 kg free check-in baggage allowance.
Cancellation Charge
E, S and T tickets are not refunded on cancellation. Airport tax charge is only refunded.
Cancellation after Rescheduling
Only Airport Tax charge is refunded if a passenger cancels their E, S or T ticket after rescheduling.

- Rescheduling fee of Rs 200 will be charged.

Shree Airlines refunds the full fare on passengers’ request if the flight is delayed by more than 2 hours. This case applies if the passenger is present at check-in.
Child Fare in Shree Airlines
Shree airlines charges children between the ages of 2 and 12 yeas 67% of the H fare. A valid document showing the birth date must be presented at check-in.
Infant Fare in Shree Airlines

Elderly Fare in Shree Airlines

Yeti Airlines
Yeti Airlines provides a wide range of flexible fare classes.These fare classes are Super Flexi ‘N’ Fare, Flexi ‘Y’ Fare, Flexi ‘G’ Fare and Saver Fares (F, H and E). Unlike Buddha Air and Shree Airlines, Yeti Airlines offers a wide range of fare classes to both NPR and USD Fares making it a more inclusive airline option. Super Flexi ‘N’ Fare
Super Flexi fare is the most expensive and flexible option applicable for both domestic and international passengers. It offers great policies for cancellation for all passengers with a good amount of free check-in baggage.

USD Fare
- Rescheduling is allowed before 1 hour of departure. However, If the same fare category is not available, passengers will have to upgrade to a higher fare category and pay the fare difference plus a Rescheduling Fee of $10.
Saver(F fare H Fare E Fare )
The Saver class in Yeti airlines is only applicable for NPR Fare. Saver fares are the cheapest ticket options with none of the flexibility. This class is best suited for passengers with a fixed travel plans. Free check-in Baggage Allowance for Saver class is 20 kg.
Cancellation Charge
Yeti Airlines apply a 100% cancellation charge on the base fare when a Saver ticket is cancelled.
Rescheduling Policies for Saver fare
- Rescheduling is allowed up to 1 hour before departure.
- To reschedule. Passengers need to pay a fee of Rs 300 and the fare difference if the original fare category is not available.
- Rescheduling requests made during the check-in period will not be accepted and tickets will be marked as “No Show”.
Cancellation after Rescheduling
